Individual Therapy:

Anxiety Support for Teens

The pressure today's teens face isn't just academic—it's a complex web of expectations playing out across real and digital spaces. Whether they're navigating group project deadlines or editing their next TikTok; they're not just managing coursework but also the pressure to be micro-entrepreneurs, social justice advocates, and mental health allies, all while figuring out who they really are beneath the filters and follows.

As a parent, you admire your child's drive and ambition—after all, this world rewards excellence. But when you notice them skipping meals to study, having anxiety attacks over test scores, or losing sleep over their class rank, you wonder: How can they maintain their edge without burning out? How can they stay competitive while staying healthy?

That's where the work of counseling comes in. I specialize in working with high-achieving teens and young adults who need to develop sustainable strategies for thriving in a high-pressure, always-on world. My approach combines evidence-based anxiety management techniques with practical tools for navigating modern stressors—from managing screen time, to setting boundaries with peers, to handling anxiety and worry.

Whether your teen is juggling AP exams or travel sports teams, I provide a space where they can be both ambitious and authentic. Through our work together, your teen will learn how to build success that's actually sustainable.

Treatment Areas:

Stress and Pressure

“Getting straight A's used to be enough—now it feels like just the bare minimum to keep up."

If your child is struggling with stress and pressure, they may feel overwhelmed by the constant need to meet high expectations and manage their fear of failing. They might experience worry about not measuring up, leading to perfectionism and self-doubt. In some cases, they could turn to unhealthy coping strategies, like withdrawing socially, over-exercising, or developing a disordered relationship with food.

Body Image and Self-Esteem

"Sometimes I feel like my achievements are invisible because all anyone sees - all I see - is my body."

If your child is struggling with body image concerns, they might compare themselves to others, especially amidst the pressure of social media and societal standards. This can lead to unhealthy behaviors, like extreme dieting, over-exercising, or avoiding social situations to prevent feeling judged.

Anxiety and Worry

"Even when everything is fine, my mind races through all the ways it could fall apart tomorrow."

If your child is struggling with anxiety and worry, they may feel constantly overwhelmed by thoughts of not being good enough or the fear of failing. They might also avoid situations that make them anxious, such as school, social events, or certain activities. Their worry can also show up physically, causing issues like trouble sleeping, headaches, or stomachaches.

Frequently Asked Questions:

How Much does therapy Cost/do you take insurance?

My individual therapy rate is $250 per session.

As a mental health professional committed to providing access to care for people of all backgrounds, sliding scale pricing is also available. Payment is collected via my client portal.

I do not accept insurance as a result of my commitment to individualized, customized support. Unfortunately, working with insurance companies often limits care, as insurance providers often dictate care.

Clients working with Well Supported are private-pay and are entitled to a Good Faith Estimate under the No Surprises Act. Additionally, I provide all clients with a superbill. Superbills can be submitted to your insurance provider for reimbursement through out-of-network benefits.

When Can We Start?

I do not have a waitlist and am accepting new clients at this time. Click “Book a Consultation Call” to set some time on my calendar. After that first call, we can begin sessions together as early as the next day.

How does therapy work at Well Supported Behavioral?

If your teen has been feeling stressed or anxious — we’ll explore which habits or thoughts patterns might be contributing to that experience. We’ll also practice coping skills for navigating tough moments and talk through lifestyle changes they can implement to improve their brain health.

After our initial intake session, I typically see clients weekly with a goal of moving to every-other week. However, some clients may benefit from more a mentorship model wherein we arrange 2 to 3 half hour touch points throughout week.

Throughout our relationship, we’ll assess the benefit your teen is receiving from these sessions. We’ll evaluate what’s working, what’s not, and go from there.

What if my child won’t go to therapy?

As a family-focused clinician— I focus on providing support to the whole family. A major part of counseling is knowing that a lot of kids are just not ready to engage in therapy yet. In that case, I rely on the willingness of parents to begin the process on behalf of their child— knowing it will be challenging, but that they have unlimited support through my services. Please complete the form under “Book a Consultation Call” to set up a consultation. Meeting via telehealth will typically give me a good sense of if we're a fit!
