Hi There!
I’m Katherine Tague, LPCA
Today's pressures can feel uniquely overwhelming for teens and young adults. When clients first come to see me, they're often juggling intense academic demands, competitive internships, social media pressure, and constant connectivity – all while trying to figure out who they really are beneath the carefully curated Instagram posts and LinkedIn updates.
Before therapy, many of my clients find themselves endlessly scrolling through social media, comparing their behind-the-scenes to everyone else's highlights or trapped in a cycle of academic or career perfectionism, where even a 95% feels like failure.
Often, clients worry their struggles aren't "serious enough" for therapy – after all, they're getting good grades, maintaining their extracurriculars, or succeeding at work. Some wonder if everyone else is handling things better, or if they're just "too sensitive." Many question whether therapy can help with what feels like an impossible balance between achievement and wellbeing.
Like my clients, you or your child deserve to feel authentic and grounded, not just "successful" on paper. Imagine being able to set boundaries with your phone and social media without feeling anxious about missing out, make decisions based on what genuinely matters to you— not just what looks good on your resume, actually enjoy your free time without guilt or worry about what you "should" be doing
If you're ready to move beyond the exhausting cycle of high achievement and self-doubt, I'd love to help you build a life that feels both successful and sustainable. Let's work together to turn down the volume on external pressures and amplify your own authentic voice.
“I’ve been in therapy for months and I’m taking my medication. So, why aren’t I feeling better yet?”
a holistic approach to mental Wellness
Most therapists focus on thoughts, behaviors or beliefs. Psychiatrists often focus on neurotransmitter imbalances. The work of therapy and psychiatry is important— but if you aren’t feeling enough relief, it might be time to start focusing on improving your brain health.
In addition to using evidence-based psychotherapy interventions — Katherine specializes in helping clients evaluate their current habits and patterns, so that they can make lifestyle changes that will support their brain health from the cellular level.
